HÀ NỘI — Police and customs officers yesterday recovered two suitcases containing elephant tusks and ivories at Nội Bài International Airport in Hà Nội.
Weighing approximately 九 七. 八kg, the confiscated items were transported into Việt Nam on flight TK 六 五 六 二 of Turkish Airlines. The plane arrived at the Nội Bài airport on April 六, according to the airport’s customs department.
The customs officers opened the suitcases yesterday to check the contents and discovered the elephant tusks. They sent the tusks to the Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources to learn about them.
The case is under investigation.
